After designing a successful awards campaign in 2010, we were commissioned to rebrand the awards programme for 2011-2013.
The Challenge: South London Business had been awarded a tender by Lambeth Council to deliver the Lambeth Business Awards programme for a further 3 years; 2011-2013. In 2012, the programme would be self-funded, so the new brand had to command more recognition than previous years; with businesses and residents of Lambeth, as well as potential sponsors. The Lambeth Business Awards should be positioned as the business innovator in the borough.
The Solution: We created a new brand with a simple, striking stencil logo. The bold shape and colour of the logo has repositioned the awards as a business leader; recognising and rewarding both start-up and established businesses in the borough. The website was redesigned and developed to play a central role in the awards, as both an information resource and a portal for businesses to register and enter. We launched the rebranded awards programme with a ‘Routemaster Roadshow’, promoting the awards in the 5 regions of the borough. In the launch phase of the 2011 awards the new brand was also applied to posters, flyers, press advertising, exhibition stands, outdoor advertising and social media. In the results phase the applications included a ceremony brochure, invitation, menu card and winners’ logos.
We were shortlisted in the Lambeth Business Awards in 2009, so have thoroughly enjoyed seeing the awards programme go from strength-to-strength. We are currently nearing the end of the 2012 programme and will be starting work on the ceremony brochure very soon!
