Strudel HR were engaged to advise and support the recruitment process of a Director of HR in a large public sector organisation. This £100K + job was newly established to lead the transformation of HR activities within the organisation.
Strudel was involved in this project over a six month period, the organisation having already failed on one occasion to successfully appoint. Our initial involvement included developing and consulting on the job description and person specification. We conducted a structured job evaluation and an equal pay audit across the wider management team to ensure pay parity.
Strudel HR managed the involvement of other specialist recruitment consultants. We wrote the service specification, interviewed and in conjunction with the client, selected the appropriate providers. This included a firm of recruitment consultants and psychologists specialising in psychometrics. Equality and diversity were key aspects to this process and specialist searchers were engaged to develop a list of potential minority ethnic candidates.
Strudel HR has significant experience in managing selection processes. In this case this involved developing the selection matrix and selection process, drafting the advert and microsite text. We assessed the applications and undertook the longlisting process and then advised the client on the shortlist.
We were the contact point for candidates.
On the selection day we ensured that the process ran smoothly.
We provided the specialist assessment of the candidate’s HR competence at the selection interview.
This was a very successful selection process. The successful candidate has been in post for some months and the changes required by the client are already in train.
